Belmont ward update. |

|
Belmont ward has seen a steep spike in crime levels within the last week or two, possibly due to the darker evenings enabling some types of crimes. We would like to remind residents to take precautions to make sure their property is kept safe by securely locking doors and windows, setting burglar alarms and leave on a light at night to make the property look occupied when you are out.
22nd October, Cornwall Road, theft of a BMW 530 sport from the owners driveway, the suspects have probably used relay theft to take the vehicle.
20th October, Homeland Drive, burglary at the address, two sets of car keys were stolen but luckily the cars weren't touched. The victim has fitted a steering lock and wheel clamp to secure the vehicle.
23rd October, Holland Avenue, burglary a the address, thieves stole a number of passports belonging to the homeowners family.
21st October, Brasted Close, attempted burglary, the thieves appear to have been targeting 2 BMW's parked on the victims driveway.
27th October, Mulgrave Road, theft of a Hyundai ION IQ from outside the victims property.
Balmoral Way, theft of a BMW 5 Series, thieves stole the vehicle whilst the homeowner was on holiday.
The recent increase in crime is most likely to be due to a small number of criminals, or group, committing most of these offences. It is very unlikely to be the sign of a general increase, and levels will more than likely return to normal. Please do not over worry, but obviously be aware and take sensible measures to keep yourself and your property safe. If you do have any concerns or see anything suspicious please Email belmontsnt@met.police.uk or Phone 07785 523280. We work shifts, so we will get back to you as soon as is practical. If it is an emergency call 999, or if non emergency call 101.
Regards, your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team. PCSO Walker PC Singer PC Lang PC Quinlan
